home is where the art is.

some quick personality and other notes:

  • travis, a coworker, just pointed out tumblr, a service very much like i wanted to develop to let people aggregate their web2.0 spaces. i've linked to mine.
  • i try to role play every few weeks or so -- it's a great way to escape, if only for a night
  • i write a lot of code by hand in emacs -- though i am using-- eclipse more and more at work
  • i try to organize my many of individual and collective thoughts using blogs, which more or less works for my purposes, though i need to do that more with ideas for linguistics projects
  • i don't get enough sleep
  • i'm obsessed with being a multi-discipline artist (though perhaps i've not enough discipline)
  • i'm afraid of being typecast (prefer myself to be lazily evaluated)
  • i'm full of paradoxes; most notably, i'm envious of people who have their incomes supplemented with allowances of various sorts, yet prideful that i don't
  • i wrote a lot, though perhaps not all that clearly
  • i work as a senior researcher in computational linguistics, cultural modeling, computer security, and geographic information systems
  • i am working toward a phd in computational linguistics at ut-austin
  • i live in austin, tx, having moved from the baltimore-washington corridor, which in it suburban drollness, bored me to tears -- still it's a pretty place, and i miss my old friends, but they'll need a crane (or, more likely a plane) to get me back there
  • i could be persuaded to move to portland, san francisco, southern germany, northern italy, prague, new zealand, or sydney or melbourne
  • this is an informal page, appearently, due to my lack of capitalization... or so the not-so-called textperts say...
