Troll for Rent
I am a graduate student in the University of Texas at Austin
Department of Linguistics, where I study computational linguistics,
focusing on topics in machine learning and discourse analysis. I also
enjoy automation and developing content
management systems. One of my dream jobs is to work on equipping robots
with natural language capabilities, or performing research in
associated fields. Toward that end, I work as a Graduate Research
Assistant for my advisor.
I am also presently employed at the University of Texas Center for Space
Research, where I have spent the past five years designing and
developing database, web, and science
software for remote sensing applications.
In addition to these duties, I welcome any challenges, be they
computational, linguistic, or philosophical.
I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the
University of Maryland Baltimore County
in May 1997, and have worked
in government, corporate, and educational research environments. In
addition, I have developed curricula and taught classes for the
Capital Area Training Foundation
in Austin and have satisfied small business clients with my eye for
design and attention to detail.
Feel free to email me at omeros AT gmail DOT com to discuss
potential avenues for collaboration. I am also a gifted proofreader
with a keen eye for typos and grammatical errors. My primary
languages are English and German, but I would love to work with
Icelandic, Japanese, Maori, Turkish, Czech, old Germanic languages, or
any language I've never heard of.
My resume is available
for your perusal.
